Student will be able to assess wind resource potential, select appropriate site, design wind farms and analyze their associated socio-economic and environmental impact.
His postgraduate research has focused on verification of seasonal wind speed forecasts over South Africa and the evolution of wind speeds in the 21’st century and their driving physical mechanisms over Southern Africa as represented by General Circulation Models. In addition, he has collaborated on research, with NUL energy research centre, on the performance assessment of a PV plant in Lesotho. He was an intern at G7 renewable energy where he was exposed to practical wind energy projects development issues such as dealings with land owners, environmental and technical modelling issues
