The goal of the Msc in Sustainable Energy programme is to provide high–calibre training in the field of Sustainable Energy by means of economic and environmental friendly energy systems and technologies. A strong emphasis is placed on dealing with Sustainable Energy systems tasks with due consideration of technical, environmental and socio economic issues.
The main objective of Msc programme is to train graduate students who would eventually:
Be technical renewable/Sustainable Energy specialists with excellent grounding in socio-economic skills for development and implementation of national energy strategic plans; have core technical skills and knowledge needed in solving the practical challenges faced by the energy industry and the community in general with regard to energy development, provision and utilisation.
The programme is offered on a block system for a minimum of two years and a maximum of three years (for part-time).
Taught courses for two semesters in the first year. The required 120 credits will be made up of 45 credits of compulsory courses and 75 credits chosen from the technical and socio-economic electives (5 courses) with at least one elective from each stream. A further maximum of two optional elective courses may be registered for.
The Dissertation, which is 100 credits, will normally commence in the second year or third year after the successful completion of the taught component.
